Titan's 1 Year Photos

Titan is 1! Well...he turned one on October 24th. Here are a few cute photos of him and more if you click here. I don't like uploading pictures so many places so it's easier to see them all in one place. Titan is a cute little bug with so much personality. He is almost walking, can say "mama, dada, ball, baba (banana), hungee," and probably a few more I can't think of right now. He is so happy and loves to give kisses. Thanks to Kristi Bowman for taking so many wonderful photos of our family. We will miss you guys.

Anniversary Celebration!

We worked together on our real anniversary and actually celebrated it yesterday. We had a marathon date and it was so much fun! We started out the day visiting with Royal's brother Julian his wife Sheri and their cute little squirt Kale. They are in town for Thanksgiving and we had some fun catch up with them.

Royal has always wanted to see the Transiberian Orchestra, and that is what he surprised me with for our Anniversary. The performance is Christmas music with a twist of rock. The talent was incredible and the effects were fancy, but I was a little taken back when girls dressed in little dresses started dancing to songs like "Joy to the World." It didn't quite fit, a little weird to be honest. It was funny to watch a head banging performance with Christmas music at the center. Anyway, it was totally fun to be surprised even though the performance was not what I thought it would be, it was still great! The lasers were really cool

After the concert we went to Macaroni Grill and then to the theater to see 2012. All on gift cards! The food tasted better and the movie was more entertaining since we didn't have to pay for any of it. :) And a big thanks to our amazing babysitter Ashley who came over at 1 in the afternoon with her bag of tricks to play with the kids and stayed until 12:30am. She knows their schedule and how to put them to bed beautifully! I never have to worry about checking in when she watches them. Royal and I have not gone on a date since...um...well, to be honest I don't remember. It has been a busy year dedicated to work. 2012 was an intense movie (3 hours) with awesome effects and no scandalous parts. :) I enjoyed it.

And to finish off a superbly enjoyable day we managed to out run a cop! (As many of you know they plague our neighborhood and seem to spend more time giving tickets than they do stopping crime). On our way home from the movie Royal didn't turn on the blinker when he made a right turn over the train tracks. Big whoop...no one else was on the road. I noticed a cop pass us going the opposite direction and then quickly make a U turn. It was apparent he was coming after us...for a blinker? Really? He must have been bored out of his mind. Royal was not speeding...but we don't have a license plate on the front of the car so that could have been it. They can pull you over for just about anything. So we made a break for it, turned down a side street back the way we came, onto the main road and home the long way. For a minute we were parallel to the road we started on, and when Royal looked down a few blocks he saw the dreaded blue and red flashing lights. Some other poor soul got pulled over. Sorry dude. But I guess an old beat up car with dark black tinted windows driving around at 12:30am does look pretty suspicious. I want a van...pretty sure vans get less tickets.

As for today, we spent Thanksgiving with Sheri's family and loved it. They are so welcoming and have taken us in with open arms. They are so lively and fun to be around. Andelyn had a blast with so many kids, and was even given a Christmas present right along with all the grandkids. The family doesn't get to be together for Christmas so they did all the celebrating today. Believe it or not I forgot to take pictures. I know...weird for me right? It was a fun day with good food, company, dessert, and even a little bit of income. Royal opened the store from 7-10pm and made ice cream for all the movie goers.

4 Years of Heaven!

Royal and I have been married 4 years and have loved every minute of it. We have so much fun together, we've never had one fight since I'm always right (wink wink), we have two kids who are in love with him, we run an ice cream shop, we have 5 chickens, we've worked and traveled together, and are still trying to figure out what to do when we grow up.

What I love about Royal...

- He is such a gentleman and so thoughtful.

- His dimples are so cute when he smiles.

- He is a lot of fun to be around and I miss him when he is gone.

- He cooks and cleans like a champ and is always willing to do dishes or make me dinner.

- His kisses are like band aids, they make everything better. Andelyn always needs a band aid when I am around but if it's dad, a hug and a kiss is best.

- Royal is a great daddy and loves children like he loves his life. He will love on other people's kids the same way he loves on his own.

- He loves kids so much he wants to have 10 of them.

- He is supportive of natural child birth.

- He is Andelyn's favorite person in the whole world. She says, "daddy, I love you, you're my favorite."

- He works hard and has a strong desire to succeed.

- He has great financial sense. Every night when he gets home he gives me all the money out of his wallet...the tips he made that day. :)

- He sets goals and achieves them.

- He is happy even when things get hard.

- He never makes me feel dumb.

- When I lose patience with the kids, he has a reserve.

- Did I mention he can cook? Yeah...I like that part. :)

- He is not computer savvy, neither am I.

- We had a great time in Ireland a couple years ago, got bit by the travel bug, and have traveled a lot...even with the kids. People think we are crazy, we think it's fun!

- He loves his family, they are his favorite people. Family reunions with the Petersen's are a party and a half!

- He loves my family and fit like a glove from the beginning.

- He likes to read, so do I.

- He is so easy going.

- He thinks I am the most amazing person ever! And he tells me so :)

- He is a great communicator.

- He always saves the last of the juice for me.

- He can build pretty much anything...have you seen Sub Zero?! Yeah, he did that...with help of course. :)

- His next project is a play house made of huge boxes for the kids...for Christmas. Shhh don't tell.

Such a fun day!

Videos!

To all the grandparents out there...these are for you. :)

And of course everyone else, it just seems that grandparents love to watch cute videos over and over again. Enjoy!

And I tried to upload Titan's first birthday playing in a cup cake but you tube only allows 10 minutes and the video I took was 11. If anyone knows how to shrink a video file I would love some help to be educated on the matter! Here's great picture instead. :)

Halloween at the Mall

Every year at the mall stores pass out candy and it is a great way to stay warm and still get the kids to bed at a decent hour. I watched the store while Royal and Jess and Kalle took the kids all over the mall. Andelyn filled her bag about half full and once she and Titan had eaten pretty much everything Royal took them home to bathe the chocolate sticky skittle sucker goo off their bodies and out of their hair, while I am here finishing at the store. Unfortunately it's not busy, but I have time to enjoy the quiet and put pictures on the blog and hour they were taken! Not a bad trade off for either of us. :) Royal is always happy to go home early and take a turn at bedtime. And it's a treat for the kids. As they were leaving Andelyn said wide eyed with a smile, "Dad is coming home!"

Titan the bee going for the sweet soda mix-ins

Tinkerbell and bee with mouths full of candy. They were heaven and didn't have enough time to smile amongst the face stuffing. :)

Tinkernbell and Tinkerbell!
Lib, Johnny, and Evie came to visit!

I love this costume! 4 bucks at DI. I found all the pieces seperate and was so excited to put them together. The wings started blue but look much better black.

Playing the "which hand is your candy in" game. Andelyn played along and held the hand with the candy at her side with the other hand straight out hoping the empty one would be picked.

Hand Gun Training Course at Frontsight

Most people go to Vegas to gamble and win a zillion bucks right? Well, this past weekend Royal and I went to Parump Nevada about an hour outside the strip to take a hand gun training course. It was a truly educational experience and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Royal found a sweet deal to take a class at the facility called Frontsight. We went with Royal's brother Tremain, and cousin Ben. It was really fun hanging out with them and learning more about the things they are passionate about. We spent a lot of time learning the very basic maneuvers of how to handle a hand gun, why gun ownership is a good thing, and how the perception of gun ownership has been tainted. We learned a lot about the 2nd amendment and why it needs to be protected. There were roughly 600 people, most of which were couples between ages 40 and 60. We were the youngest group besides a 15 year old girl with her dad. And she was the best shot out of all of us! We were broken into groups of 40 on different ranges. We started the day as the sun came up and ended after dark. It was like a fire hose of information and so interesting. A heads up to the Petersen family, Royal and Tremain will be calling you hoping you will attend this with them after the family reunion in 2011. They offer classes that handle any type of gun you can imagine.

Check out our awesome goofy hats...we all forgot one and had to borrow them.

"equal height, equal light...teaching Treamin how to focus on the front sight.

The classroom. This picture doesn't do justice as to how many people were there.

We stayed with my aunt and uncle Sandi and Lane right outside of Vegas, my parents and brother drove out, and my cousins Simeon and Margaret are living there now so we got to see so much family! It was great. My mom was in heaven as was Andelyn, and Titan did fine without me. I was hoping he would forget about nursing not having had it for two days, but the first thing he did when he saw me was squeal for some love. So...the nursing continues. It's okay though, while we've all been a little sick, he's been just fine. I think there is something to say to validate the research on antibodies in breast milk.

We also celebrated his birthday with a chocolate cup cake and he loved it! Also...happy birthday to Dad Petersen! Titan and Grandpa Petersen share the same birthday. :) We are SO excited to see you guys for Christmas!

Happy birthday little man!

Andelyn has a baby in her tummy

Andelyn is playing with her friend Leah and just said,

"There's a baby in my tummy, feel her, her name is Gracie."

Leah: "Why doesn't she come out?"

Andelyn: "She has to grow to come out!"

We went to a baby shower on Saturday for my friend Crystal and her baby Grace. Andelyn got to touch Crystal's tummy and thought it was really neat there was a baby inside. Little kids are so sweet.

A TSA worker took a child from his mother!

Stories like THIS make me furious. The fact that people are treated like such animals is repulsive. A woman had her son taken from her by TSA to be searched at the airport. When I was a kid I asked a worker what tsa meant and he jokingly said, "taking scissors away" (This was before 9/11). Then he told me the real answer. I have always had a hard time remembering the real thing...maybe because the real thing IS about taking scissors...and unfortunately children. Sad. Read on.
